Water Resources Research Institute [WRRI]
A part of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) is one of the 54 water resources research institutes established at land-grant universities throughout the United States and its territories.
WRRI was established in 1973 and operates under the Water Resources Research Act of 1984 as amended by Public law 101-397. Like other water resources research institutes, it receives partial federal funding provided through the U.S. Geological Survey. Additional funding is provided by UVI and through contractual projects. WRRI is a part of the Research and Public Service component of the University.
